Bellavista is probably the best spot to enjoy a real secluded rainforest in the area, it's well known for having the most enjoyable trail network, more than 10 km of scenic trails full of flora and fauna, waterfalls and rivers, which make it a unique place and an experience that will pamper all your senses. Bellavista's resident mammals include the endangered Spectacled Bear, (recently captured by a "Camera Trap"), as well as the Puma, Andean Coati, Tayra, and of course the newly discovered Olinguito which is the last mammal species discovered in the last 35 years. This is the best place to watch Masked Trogons, and Strong Billed Woodcreepers in a very large number. This is the perfect place to look for the rare White Faced Nunbird and here the beautiful
Sunangel Hummingbird will be to indulge your eyes.
Bellavista and the Tandayapa valley boast over 330 bird species.
