Departure Quito: We depart from Quito at 05:30 am and drive less than 2:30 hours to get to Mashpi Amagusa Reserve.

We will witness the Tanager craziness at 08:00 am and then we will have breakfast on site made by the local community, food is delicious and locally authentic, and the best part... it’s served right in front of the feeders in the presence of dozens of Tanagers, and Toucanets.

We will enjoy the super rare and sought after yet crazy common in Mashpi, the Glistening Green Tanager, dozens of Tanagers coming to the feeders, Tyras Mammals, Coati Mammals, Crimson-rumped Toucanets, Toucan Barbets and so many more bird and mammal species, this place is sure to stay in your memories for a long time.
We will spend all morning enjoying this magical area , in the trails and feeders. Around 13:00 pm we will enjoy lunch on site and at 14:00 pm we will head to Alambi for a humminbird experience.

Enjoy the best place around for hummingbirds, impossible not to be amazed by the number of species and individuals here, be sure to look for those 2 hermit species, they are very special and rare, yet common at Alambi, also we will get to see the 2 woodstars species which are the smallest in all of Ecuador, Purple-throated and White-bellied Woodstar. Late afternoon is one of the busiest times for this little but impressive guys, a visit to an adjacent coffee processing plant is included we will stay until 17:30 pm before making our way back to Quito.
